The Site Today

The site sits on land directly south of Romsey Road roundabout, bordered by Romsey Road and Romsey Golf Club to the north, housing and farmland to the east, the M27 to the south, and the M271 to the west.

Test Valley District Council has draft allocated the site for employment-led development in the emerging Local Plan, however its location makes it well suited for new housing due to good transport links and access to the road network, while making improvements to public transport, walking, and cycling options.

The site is in close proximity to Nursling and Rownhams settlement, Southampton and Romsey for education, employment and leisure facilities.

Our Vision

Our emerging proposals will include:

Deliver a high-quality, residential-led development for the local area

Make a significant contribution to Test Valley’s housing target, including delivering affordable housing

Keep and strengthen existing roadside planting and vegetation to support wildlife and reduce visual impact

Protect woodland areas around the site and provide additional tree planting

Improve public transport links, reducing the need for more cars on the road

Create new pedestrian and cycle routes from the site

Include new publicly accessible open space within the site, including play areas and community orchards

Deliver a significant green buffer to the M271, reducing noise and air quality impacts and improving biodiversity

The consultation officially launches on 25 November. Copies of the materials displayed at the public drop-in event are now available to download below, so if you are unable to attend on the day, you will be able to view them here and provide your feedback.
